  2. Who and What is Network Artists Ltd? • Established in 1992 as an independent association of professional artists living and working in Northumberland. • As a Company Limited by Guarantee it is managed on behalf of the members by a board of directors who are elected each year at the AGM.

  3. Our mission “Network provides a service for artists living and working in the North east, offering support for artists individually and collectively through networking, and through a programme of opportunities that aids the furtherance of their practice in the visual arts and supports economic growth within the artistic community”

Our 9 goals To maintain financial sustainability To increase membership levels To increase art tour participation To develop members skills To celebrate the quality and diversity of our work To increase opportunities for networking and exhibiting To improve the image of network To increase member involvement and volunteering To maintain and improve our governance arrangements

How will we achieve this? • A new membership fee structure and more membership benefits • A greater focus on our business plan giving us a better profile for funding, sponsorship and advertising revenue • An improved image including a new trading name and logo to reflect our bigger geographical spread

  6. So - what’s in it for you and what will it cost?

New fees and chargesStandard membership fee 45 INCLUDES: • Public and product liability insurance • Discount, with our new membership card, at art related retailers • Your own micro site on the new website • Access to the members only area of the website, including an e-bulletin • Access to training and networking opportunities • Weekly listings - information about exhibitions coming up, opportunities to exhibit your own work, call for artists to national and local events • Invites to locally based meetings and exhibitions (hubs) • Opportunity to submit work for curated exhibitions

  8. 35 Upgrade to directory level for For this you will be included in a year round directory. • This will be a high quality, well designed publication, distributed widely throughout the North East. • It will also feature heavily on our new website • Our ambition is that this directory is THE place to advertise and go to for individuals, galleries and art related retail outlets • We will subsidise this by advertising revenue and are working hard in securing this currently • Artists can, if they wish, also pay for further advertising in this directory

  10. The Art Tour • To be part of the art tour you MUST also upgrade to Directory membership level • The art tour map will relate to the entries in the directory and will be distributed at the same time • The cost of the art tour for 2014 will be This means the total cost to you will be: 80

  11. Art Tour 2014 • If you would like to take part but don’t have a venue – let us know. We are continuing to approach suitable art tour hosts on your behalf. • Once we know who is taking part and where, we will put artists in touch with each other. This will help you to work together to make your art tour a success by: • Opening on the same weekends where possible (there will be no minimum opening requirement) • Taking out adverts for your area • Working collaboratively in any other way you can think of • We will hold a meeting in the spring of all those taking part in the art tour to help make it a success for everyone

What you need to do now! • If you’re not already a member – JOIN! • Tell us by 31 January 2014 if you want to be in the directory • If you let us know within the next seven days you will get a £5 early bird discount! • Also tell us by 31 January 2014 if you want to take part in the art tour in 2014. • We will need details of venue and image of work by the end of February 2014

How can you get the most out of your membership? • As a member the more you put in to the organisation the more you get out of it. • You can get involved, either by joining the board or by undertaking one off tasks, or by offering your skills and expertise by training and supporting other artists. • As an artist led organisation, run by artists for artists we would like to increase artists involvement and volunteering and would like your views on what it would take for you to become more involved

In conclusion The board believe that what we have developed will: • Give members more benefits, encouraging new members and re-joiners and raising our profile • Making us more attractive to funders and sponsors • This will help ensure we are future proofed and financially sustainable • All of which will contribute to our ambition – To become THE organisation for professional artists in the North East of England
