  2. What did Hank persevere through? • Hank Aaron persevered through when he got called lots of mean racism names that he did not like but when he got there up to the plate to bat he just focused on the game and had fun.

Early Years • Hank was born February 5th 1934 and hank is still living. • Hank was born in Alabama somewhere called “ Down the bay “ but spent most of his time in Toulminville. • He had a poor family and spent most of his time on picking cotton. • As a Sophomore in High School Hank played third base & outfield for his school baseball team. • He was also very good at football and had a couple scholarship offers to football. • When Hank was only 15 he tried out for the franchise of the Brooklyn Dodgers for the MLB but did not except him for there team. • When he was a junior he joined the Black Bears negro team and getting only $10 each game. • Then after the Black Bears he joined the Indianapolis Clowns for $200 a month. • After that he went onto the minor league team ( Boston Braves ) for $50 a month.

  4. Interesting Facts from Childhood • Hank loved baseball so much and since his family was very poor he would gather sticks and bottle caps and use the stick as a bat and caps as baseballs and play baseball. • Also when Hank was a kid the food he loved is pizza.

Adult Years • At 20 years old he played on the minor league team owned by the Braves, and in the same year he went up to the MLB. • In 1953, Hank met and married Barbara Lewis they married on October 6th 1953. • 4/13/1954 Hank goes 0-5 in the major leagues. • 4/15/1954 Aaron gets first hit in the majors and was a single. • 4/23/1954 Hank hits his first homerun in the MLB. • 7/12/1955 Aaron got elected to play in his first All-Star game. • 5/01/1975 Hank becomes all time leader in RBI’s ( Runs Batted In ) and had 2,297. • 7/20/1976 Aaron hits homerun number 755 in career and was his last homerun ever. • 8/01/1982 Hank Aaron got inducted to the Hall of Fame.

  7. Interesting facts from Adult life • Hank broke the all-time homerun record, and got 755 homeruns in his career. Also Hank was number 44 and that is what number president Obama is. • These two Hank and Obama are connected because they both went through hard times, hard times like racism and fighting to be famous or do what there good at.
