EELA/EUMEDGRID/EUChinaGRIDtraining activities • Training indicates here knowledge dissemination activities. • Based on GILDA t-Infrastructure • 2 main formats: • User: knowledge of the middleware services and how to interact with them ( submitting jobs, retrieving outputs, managing data,…); • Administrator: how to install, configure and manage grid sites and services;

EELA/EUMEDGRID/EUChinaGRIDtraining activities • Promoting Local Training Teams • Build a core of knowledgeable people in the countries participating to these projects. • Start training in local languages enlarging the dissemination effect to other communities • e.g.: gLite 3 User’s Guide fully translated in Spanish by EELA! • Local Training Teams already active in: • Brazil, Chile, Italy, Mexico, and Venezuela (EELA) • China, Greece, and Italy (EUChinaGRID) • Greece, Italy, and Turkey (EUMEDGRID) • Next step: further customization to fulfill local needs.

EELA/EUMEDGRID/EUChinaGRIDtraining activities Grid Schools for application porting • 3 or 4 representatives per applications with an expert tutor • 2 weeks of full immersion • For about 5-6 applications, both from within and outside the project • First instance will be for EELA project Decem-ber, 4-15, 2006 at Itacuruca (Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, http://www.eu-eela.org/egris1)
