  2. Rectangular Prism • The volume V of a rectangular prism is the product of the length l, the width w, and the height h. V = l(w)(h) • The volume of a three-dimensional figure is the measure of space it occupies. • It is measured by cubic units • Ex: centimeters cubed (cm³) height width length

  3. Example 1 • Find the volume of the rectangular prism. V = l(w)(h) V = 5(4)(3) V = 60 cm³ 3 cm 4 cm 5 cm

  4. Cylinder • The volume V of a cylinder is the area of the base times the height h. V = (Area of the base)(height) • The base of a cylinder is a circle. • You will have to find the area of the circle and multiply that by the height of the cylinder. • It is measured by cubic units • Ex: centimeters cubed (cm³)

  5. Example 2 • Find the volume of the cylinder. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth.
