ASCO Guidelines and Standards • ASCO Guidelines address a wide range of cancer treatment, diagnosis, and management issues. • Also publish guideline endorsements, adaptations, standards and provisional clinical opinions (PCOs) • Annually, our team has 25 new guidelines, 15 updates in progress • There are > 1500 guideline or standards volunteers • ASCO has collaborated with 27 organizations on guideline development • ASCO guidelines consistently are among the most accessed Journal of Clinical Oncology articles

The Development Process • Invite Co-Chairs and panelists to serve on the panel • Develop Protocol • Systematic Review conducted • A critical assessment and evaluation of all research studies that address a particular clinical or process issue; an organized method of locating, assembling, and evaluating a body of literature on a particular topic using a set of specific criteria. • Consensus Methodology

  10. Timeline and deliverables • Current status: Systematic review in progress • February - March 2019: finalize systematic review • March – April 2019: finalize standards statements with Expert Panel • Goal: project completion Q2 2019 • Key publication in Journal of Clinical Oncology
