Haute couture • Haute couture means custom made. • Haute couture fashion is custom made clothing (usually dresses) and is worn on special events such as weddings, birthdays etc • Haute couture originated from Paris in the mid nineties. Haute couture was first invented by a French man called Charles Frederick Worth.

  3. Ready-to-wear • Ready to wear fashion is what you see on the shelves of every clothing shop and is worn by everyone. • Every day clothing has been around for as long as anyone can remember.
