Join us for an engaging session focused on improving our educational practices through the Iowa Core Implementation Network. We aim to enhance our skills, keep updated on educational standards, and access quality tools and protocols that can be implemented in your districts. The event will assess the academic rigor in both Math and Language Arts standards, guided by the SREB Learning-Centered Leadership Program and Wallace Foundation. Network with peers and gain insights into aligning instruction with assessment to foster student success.

Iowa Testing, 6-8 Grade Level, this year • Students had a passage to read, then 5 questions with multiple choice answers: • In the marked line, what does “disorient” mean? • Which picture shows a light that helps reduce light pollution? • Which sentence states the main idea? • How is the third paragraph organized? • Which website is most likely to have accurate information about where night skies are darkest?

  19. Grade 8 - Literacy • In “Meditation XVII,” which phrase best supports the idea that all people are connected? • Below is information from the passage, “The Meditations.” Organize the information by moving each phrase from the passage into the proper section of the table.
