Voices of World War II • Voices of World War II is an interdisciplinary unit that integrates historical research, creative writing, and multimedia. • Students write, produce and edit a video monologue that expresses the emotion and experience of marginalized voices within a particular historical era.

  5. Curriculum Areas of Focus • Primary: History/Social Science • Secondary: English/Language Arts, Performing Arts, Technology • The main elements of this unit can be applied to other historical and literary units, i.e., the Great Depression, Civil Rights Movement and Vietnam War.

  6. Enduring Question • How can you empower marginalized voices through multimedia?

  7. Guest Speakers • Guest speakers make learning meaningful and relevant • Japanese Internment • Witness to Zoot Suit Riots
