  1. Back by popular demand... The Science of Art June 28th – July 9th 9AM-3PM daily Wake Forest University Help increase your students’ interest in science by tapping into their create side. Join instructor Dr. Angela King for this middle school science teacher workshop which ties the N.C. Standard Course of Study to hands-on art activities that utilize scientific concepts. Each school sending a team of 3 or more teachers will also receive related materials and supplies for use in their classrooms. Last year this workshop had a waiting list and 100% of participants said they would sign-up again if they could. Secure a spot in this effective, fun and popular middle school science teacher workshop by completing and returning the attached form ASAP. Enrollment is limited! Priority will be given to science teachers from schools sending at least three teachers to the workshop. Benefits include: A $675 stipend A manual complete with instructor and student pages. Experience working with local artists. 2 technology credits and 2.5 regular renewal credits. Supplies for classrooms. Topics and activities include: -pottery and garbage can kilns -natural and synthetic dyes and paints -symmetry and origami -chemistry of photography -fish prints -crystals & metal embossing -making artistic paper -fiber arts
