Project Progress • National Working Group members have been identified and submitted • Turkmen Lawyer has been contracted and started implementation of ACTIVITY 1.2 -status of implementation of the IMO instruments and ACTIVITY 1.3 “Discuss and plan accession to the “Voluntary IMO Member State Audit Scheme – VIMSAS”. • Understanding with Maritime Department to participate in VIMSAS.

  5. ILO 147 and ILO 180 – in the beginning stage of discussion and preparation of related documents to be submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers SOLAS Prot. 78 and SOLAS Prot. 88 – all supporting and related documents have been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers for the approval Loadlines Prot. – all necessary documents have been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers for approval 88 STCW Con. 95 – recently is not considering by the Maritime Administration of Turkmenistan MARPOL Prot An.6 – all documents have been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers Project Progress

  6. Project Concerns • weak link in communication between TMRL and other ministries; • visa arrangements • short notices • project registration has still not been in Turkmenistan • weak link with the authorized persons in charge to have an access to IMO site • difficulties in getting IMO documentation translated into Russian • Project office
