Israel was established as a homeland for Jews with historical claims dating back 3,000 years. However, the lack of a strong separation between religion and government leads to tensions among the diverse religious groups, including Jews, Muslims, and Christians, all considering Jerusalem sacred. The Law of Return grants citizenship based on Jewish ancestry, raising questions about fairness and true religious freedom. The intersection of religion with politics complicates societal peace, as government decisions often favor certain religious groups, ultimately hindering equality and harmony.
