  6. What are the requirements to exit “Pre-Business” and earn BBA status? • Earn 45 semester hours • Earn a grade of “C” or better in ACCT 2101 “Financial Accounting” • GSU GPA of 2.5 or higher BBA status is required before you begin taking most business courses

  7. What if I decide I don’t want to be a business major? • Come by our office in room 1100 of COBA to obtain paperwork to change your major • Don’t wait! Complete the paperwork as soon as you decide to change your major Not sure what you want your major to be? The Career Services office in the Williams Centers has online activities that can help you identify majors and careers that fit your interests and strengths

  11. Free Electives (Approx. 12 hours) • Classes not required for major • Could be for minor or second major • Some classes will not count towards free electives such as MATH 1101 (Math Modeling) and ACCT 2030 (Survey of Accounting)

  15. What does it take to graduate in 4 years? • 126 Total Credit Hours • “C” or better in ALL Business Curriculum Courses • 2.0 Grade Point Average • 5-day Schedule • Summer Enrollment • 15 or more credit hours per semester

Different Types of Courses and Requirements • Hybrid- Class has a lecture and online or lab component • Example- Math 1111 • Online- Class typically does not meet on campus, or a limited number of times • OL • Jumpstart- Class meets for only a portion of the semester • Example- several KINS (PE) classes • Check start and end dates when sign up for classes • Pre-requisite-as a course that is required prior to taking an advanced course • Example- College Algebra (Math 1111) is a prerequisite for Survey of Calculus (Math 1232) • Co-requisite- an academic course required to be taken in conjunction with another course • Example- many science courses require a lab component to be taken with the lecture

  26. “Drop/Add” and “Withdraw” Drop/Add Withdraw Goes into effect after the Drop/Add period, check the registrar’s website for the deadline to withdraw for a class “W” appears on transcript Can affect GPA if done after allotted time frame LIMIT OF 5 WITHDRAWALS DURING YOUR UNDERGRADUATE CAREER • First 4 days of school (shorter for Summer School) • Does not affect GPA • Best time to re-arrange schedule, if necessary
