1. Painter and Decorator Salary – £21,000 Our client provides 4,500 high quality homes and services in Greater Manchester and they are committed to making a difference in neighbourhoods for the long term. They are expanding their repairs and maintenance team to deliver all areas of the service in-house. As a result, they are currently looking for experienced Painters and Decorators to join their Direct Labour Service (DLS). The key responsibility of this role will be to provide a comprehensive painting and decorating service to properties in accordance with the relevant safety regulations and group procedures. Within this role, you will be responsible for identifying and rectifying defects in paintwork where required. You will prepare all walls and ceilings before you provide the paintwork needed and also burn off the old paintwork from timber, window and doors. Where required you will be required to clean, treat and paint metal finishes, including doors and railings. The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role along with previous training. Holding an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is desirable and you must have experience of maintenance work on domestic properties and also of the ordering of materials. With the ability to work in a variety of conditions, you will work well on your own and as part of a team. Due to the nature of this position, a satisfactory enhanced CRB disclosure is required. The successful applicant will also need a full UK driving license and possess a full well maintained tool kit at all times.
