BD Canada’s Onboarding Process Selection & Hiring: • Manager completes 3 tools: • Deliverable map • Onboarding checklist • Orientation schedule Extend Offer Manager contacts new hire (same day as they accept offer) HR sends Manager link to GSRG on intranet. Manager references “Take Action” button to review process & start preparing for new hires’ onboarding experience Within 48 hours of offer, send postcard from hiring manager / team Within 48 hours of offer, send Benefit Package (from HR) First Days: Team completes a tool on GSRG called “Who’s Who” & begins process with new hire Manager meets with new hire & reviews orientation schedule, onboarding checklist & deliverable map Manager introduces new hire to other BD Associates across the company Buddy meets with new hire & continues ongoing contact Remember: make new hire feel welcome – take out to lunch all week! First Weeks: New hire must complete C2C requirements Manager & new hire create development plan Manager reviews IIGs with new hire & discusses alignment to team & comp. objectives & actions from “What’s Most Critical” discussion Manager & new hire work together to complete a tool called “Most Critical To Me”. Manager creates action plan from discussion • Manager shows new hire GSRG & requests them to complete: • Love To Do Work • Manager Top 2 G S R G First Months (within 120 days): Manager continues to utilize the optional team building tools under “Managing Talent Results” on GSRG for elevated team engagement C2C sends updates\ ongoing reminders HR reviews data & updates metrics & provide feedback to Mgr/Dept for ongoing improvement Manager completes tool called “Performance Check Point” & reviews with new hire HR reminds new hire to complete online survey Note: GSRG is Great Start Resource Guide which is one stop storage of all onboarding tools. Tools highlighted in yellow are core and must be completed.
