  7. School Improvement Strategy Changes • Challenging underachievement • Promoting excellence • Challenging and supporting governance • Intervention strategies – LA maintained schools • Monitoring – warning letter prior to notice

Changes to StEPs • Locality working • Rationale for StEP changes: • Aligning StEPs to specific localities to support the aim of increased partnership working • Aligning StEPs to one Senior Officer to support better communication and accountability • Providing the same StEP to linked schools (e.g. infant and junior schools sharing a catchment area, federations) • The capacity of the StEP and Senior Officer to provide appropriate support and challenge • The current LA category of the school • Any relevant individual factors which may mitigate any change (e.g. HMI involvement) • New StEPs – Julie Sandham and Sally Kimber
