Rami Hammad Signed to play football for the Texas Longhorns Practicing Muslim who collaborated with coaches in order to honor his fast during Ramadan, where he did not eat or drink anything from sunrise to sunset Fasted through the scorching summer weather, sometimes during two-a-day practices, and only broke the fast three times during the thirty day period Says that his dedication to Islam may only be surpassed by his devotion to football

Hijabs in the Sports Scene Ibtihaj Muhammad- a fencer on team USA who is currently in training for the 2016 Olympic Games-could become the first Muslim American woman to compete at the Olympic Games in a hijab There has been debate on women wearing the hijab and playing soccer.
