  2. Voice search Is Voice Search going to be a “Game Changer” in SEO? I think I've watched enough futuristic sci-fi movies to be certain that this will be a hit. Voice search functions like the Google Assistance of Android phones and Siri of iPhones have started its reign in mobile internet. For example, take a look at these voice search facts: ● 20% of all searches on mobile devices are voice searches ● 1 in 4 shoppers used voice assistants in their holiday shopping during the 2017 season. ● Mobile voice-related searches are 3X more likely to be local-based than text-related searches. ● 35.6 million Americans used a voice-activated assistant device at least once a month in 2017. ● 35.8% of millennials use voice-enabled digital assistants at least once a month. Now the question is, How do you optimize your content for voice search? Recently a group of SEO experts analyzed over 10,000 voice search results and here’s what they found out.

  3. 1. First, you need content that will rank high on the search results, Google tends to source voice search answers from content that ranked top 3 in search results. 2. It’s a lot better if you have Featured Snippet. Google picks the best answer by putting them on top of the search result using a convenient little snippet. 3. Lastly, include a Q&A(Question and Answer) on your content. Google tends to pick pages that include a question and an answer with it. One more thing, do you know those FAQ’s pages that no bothers to read? The thing is FAQ pages are GREAT for voice SEO.

  4. Mobile-first Indexing Google started its mobile first indexing experiment in 2016. Google wanted to crawl websites not just from desktop computers but also from a smartphone view. In 2018, Google has finally started rolling out its mobile-first indexing. Google indexes a website, starting from its mobile version. The desktop version of a website that's not mobile-friendly will still be indexed. But that is going to have a huge impact on the website's ranking. With approximately 262 million mobile internet users, mobile-friendly websites that offer better UX dominate the SEO game. This is a good move from Google, Today, 60% of Google searches are coming from mobile devices and mobile searches are growing fast.

  5. Knowing all of that, here are the 3 Simple Steps to Optimize your website for Mobile-First Index: 1. Consistency of content on both desktop and mobile is a must. Hiding content will result in a big problem since the mobile version is now considered by Google as “true version” which leads Google to ignore hidden contents. 2. Remove that mobile version of your website and start using Responsive Design. 3. Lastly, make sure your website also looks good on mobile, since user experience is very important. If people find it hard to navigate on your site using mobile then they will probably leave your site immediately. Blockchain Technology If you are familiar with bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies then you are most likely aware of blockchain technology. Blockchain by definition is the technology that enables cryptocurrencies to exist and function. Knowing all of that, the real question is, How will it influence SEO? For example, here are some of the impact it can make on SEO.

  6. Link Building - is the long-standing vital part of SEO from the ‘90s until today. One of the most effective ways to gain rankings and often the most abused because of spamming links from low-quality website. But with blockchain on the scene, transactions like buying links can be easily detected and penalized. Data Verification - Getting unique visits to your website plays an important role in getting your site rank. Data is diluted by bots which makes paid advertiser having trouble telling if those clicks they get are coming from real people or bots. Blockchain can connect advertisers directly to verified potential customers. Unverified visits coming from spammy bot traffic can hurt your rankings and that’s where blockchain plays its role on filtering and verifying legitimate human traffic. The impact of this technology is still uncertain but I will come to the point where it can be fully utilized and it will reap rewards to good SEO practices that will level the playing field. Google Rankbrain Considered to be one of the most important ranking factors of Google. Rankbrain is a machine learning algorithm that is used by Google for sorting search results. It also enhances the user experience by processing and understanding search queries. If you are really into SEO then you better start optimizing for Rankbrain.

  7. Amazon Search Like the most search engine, Amazon is also powered by its own search algorithm(A9) that is pretty simple yet still unpredictable. Since it’s a maturing algorithm, the frequent and unpredictable updates cause frustrations among sellers. According to a study, 56% of online users will first visit Amazon before going to other sites. This poses a threat to online businesses that are not in Amazon. So if you are not in Amazon, you might be losing 56% of potential conversions. So if your business is good to be in Amazon, start Amazon search optimization into your SEO strategy.
