  4. Who Has Contract Authority? Regents President, SrVP-Business and Finance, SrVP & Provost, VP-Research and Director of OSPA Individuals who have received a Delegation Memorandum Individuals who have authority pursuant to an ISU policy (e.g., P-Card, Fee-for-Service)

  5. Important Notes Deans and Chairs have almost no contract authority A person may countersign a contract so long as someone with authority also signs A person signing without authority may be personally liable if ISU disclaims the contract

Research Agreements Sponsored Research Agreements Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreements Material Transfer Agreements Contract authority: SrVP & Provost, VP-Research, OSPA and OIPTT’s Industry Group have authority - PIs don’t have authority to sign, but are normally asked to counter-sign

  7. Collaborative Agreements SrVP & Provost, VP-Research, OSPA and OIPTT’s Industry Group (Research) SrVP & Provost (Academic)

  8. Fee for Service Directors of fee-for-service units may sign contracts relating to those services
