  6. Branches There are 3 branches of government Legislative Executive Judicial

  7. Legislative • Congress heads the Legislative branch • The Senate • 2 for each state • 6 year terms • The House of Representatives • 435: based on population • Elected by the people

  9. Executive • The President is the head of the Executive branch • The Vice President becomes president if he/she dies • The cabinet is a special group that advises the President
