The Division of Anesthesiology and Critical Care and The Division of Surgery Present Henrik Kehlet, M.D., Ph.D., Professor Section for Surgical Pathophysiology Copenhagen, Denmark “Fast Track Surgery-What It Is and Why Should We Do It?” Wednesday, June 19, 2013 Hickey Auditorium, R11.1400 6:30 am Educational Objectives: * To understand the rationale and evidence for the components of fast-track surgery (Knowledge, Competence, Performance, Patient Outcomes) * To provide information on the implementation process of fast-track surgery (Knowledge, Competence, Performance, Patient Outcomes) *To discuss future strategies and development within fast-track surgery (Knowledge, Competence, Performance, Patient Outcomes) Target Audience: This program should be of value to anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, surgeons, medical oncologists research faculty, fellows, residents and other healthcare providers. The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. It is the policy of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center that the planning committee members and all faculty/presenters must disclose any relevant financial relationships with commercial interests whose products may be discussed in the activities, if any.
