  2. Background Phil was born on February 24, 1938 in Portland, Oregon. He grew up in a suburb of Portland and his house was located in an upper-middle class neighborhood. He wasn’t the type of child that others could tell off the bat if he’ll do good or bad in life. He was just an average kid. His dad had many jobs and his mom stayed home.   3. Education Phil Knight attended the University of Oregon after high school. In those four years he never yet knew what he wanted to do until he went to Stanford Business school after and really dug out his interests.   4. The Long Road After Phil finished college with good grades, he was thinking about being an entrepreneur. He wanted to do this mainly because he was inspired by his former track coach at Oregon, Bill Bowerman. So he traveled around the world scoping out the top foreign shoes in the markets. Along the way in Onitsuka, Japan, he met a man who hooked him up with a company called Blue Ribbon Sports and got him to be the CEO and founder of it.   5. Nike When Phil started Nike with his former track coach, Bill Bowerman, it was just a plain old young shoe company. He would make the soles of his shoes out of his wife’s waffle iron and then sell them out of the trunk of his Volkswagen Bug at track meets. That’s because he and Bill only put in 500 dollars each to start the company! But as he and Bill got going, Nike started to grow unexpectedly over all of the leading brands, including Adidas as they started improving their products. http://www.hdwallpapersarena.com/nike-logo-wallpapers.html

  6. Contributions to our World Phil Knight was and still is the man of many talents. One of the talents he had was thinking of creative ways to satisfy people. These examples will be known as the contributions he made to the world. • Came out with top-of-the-line gear (Dri-Fit, Therma-Fit, etc.) • Satisfied people by the way his sports shoe fit their needs in a way of balancing comfort and durability. • Showed people the fact that by being risky and determined, a big idea can turn into huge success in or further in life.

  7. Accomplishments Phil Knight had and still is having many accomplishments in his exciting sports-filled lifetime. He started all of this at such an early time of his life and is still alive, so there may be many more to come. • Started the huge sports company, Nike by traveling around the world and founding BR Sports, which started it all. • Made and designed many successful shoe models that worked perfectly in the market. • Signed many big-time sports athletes to contracts for Nike, his company for more sponsorships and earnings.
