  3. About NCTVETD • NCTVETD was established as a public institution and legal person, subordinated to the Ministry of Education since 1st of January 1999.

  4. Our mission • The mission of the NCTVETD is to contribute to the development of a qualitative and attractive technical and vocational education, offering equal chances of personal and professional development to each student so that to make that person able to work and to continue its lifelong learning, to be able to contribute as a TVET graduate to the economic development of its community, to consolidation of the Romanian democratic society.

Our responsibilities • Assuring harmonization of the Romanian developments with those realized at European and international level in elaborating the policies and strategies referring to the technical and vocational education, in identification of qualifications and curriculum development for the formal education system, in cooperation with the social partners • Contributing to the methodological developments referring to the educational supply planning, to development of schools institutional capacity, to organization and development of the teaching-learning process, to examination and certification, to quality assurance in technical and vocational education

OUR ACTIVITIES which support TVET educational system developments Qualifications and curriculum in TVET • Elaboration of educational policy and strategies projects, and methodological development specific to the TVET process and system • Design of TVET certification methodologies • Design and assistance of curriculum development • Contributions to the elaboration of norms, regulations, and laws in the domain of education, training and employment

OUR ACTIVITIES which support TVET educational system developments Quality Assurance in TVET • Assistance of the teaching- learning methodologies development and implementation • Assistance of quality assurance procedures development • Support for didactic equipments procurement • Monitoring schools infrastructure rehabilitation

  8. OUR ACTIVITIES which support TVET educational system developments Planning in TVET • TVET supply planning • Social partnership, relation with the labor market and regional coordination • Development and implementation of teachers and managers training programs

  9. NCDVET as PIU • NCTVETD has also responsibilities as Projects Implementation Unit (PIU)for modernization of technical and vocational education developed through Phare programs with the European Union assistance. • NCVETD implemented or is in course of implementation of a number of Phare projects. The Phare TVET projects with an aprox. budget of 250 MEURO had as main goal to sustain the institutional building, procurement and infrastructure rehabilitation measures of TVET schools.

  10. NCDVET as IB • NCTVETD has also responsibilities as Intermediate Body (IB) for Sectorial Operational Programme – Human Resources Development (ESF) for the key areas of interventions 2.1 and 2.3 of the Programme • Measure 2.1. Transition from school to active life • Measure 2.3. Access and participation in Continous Vocational Training
