  1. Master Program inCognitive Neuroscience Institute of Social and Political Sciences

  2. The study of the brain and cognitive processes is one of the priority directions of modern science. The brain is the last and grandest biological frontier, the most complex thing we have yet discovered in our universe. James D. Watson

  3. Master Program in Cognitive Neuroscience Head of the Program: Sergey Kiselev, PhD. The head of the Department of clinical psychology and psychophysiology Institute of social and political Sciences +7343 251-67-45 Sergey Kiselev is working in the area of cognitive developmental neuroscience. He had an internship at the Southern Illinois University (USA) in 2004-2005, at the University of Oxford (UK) in 2009, at the University of California (USA, San Diego) in 2014, and at the Department of Clinical Psychology of Moscow State University (1999). Healso participated in the summer schools of the International Brain Research Organization (Croatia, 2003), the Maks Planck Institute (Germany, 2005), the Institute of The International Neuropsychological Society (Greece, 2006). His research was supported by various Russian and international science foundations. Dr. Kiselev has developed a neuropsychological computer technique adapted for children of preschool age that allows to carry out a comprehensive assessment of their neurocognitive functions. This is the first in Russia computational method for neurocognitive diagnosis designed for children of preschool age. It will be used to assess the level of neuro-cognitive functions development in children between 4 to 7 years.

  4. Program Features • The program combines fundamental theoretical training in the fields of brain research and neurocognitive processes: neurology, neuropsychology, principles of neuroscience, neurocognitive development of children, methods for brain research and neurorehabilitation. • The program structure is a set of interdisciplinary subjects and applied disciplines, which sequentially describe the theoretical and methodological fundamentals of neurocognitive science in order to form competence in areas such as neuropsychological assessment, building the concept of neurocognitive research, theoretical analysis of research problems, conceptual framework, understanding the indicators of neurocognitive research, modern instrumental methods of brain research, behavioral methods for research of the brain in normal and pathological states. • The emphasis is made on the study of children.

  5. Program Features • Degree: Master of Arts in Cognitive Neuroscience • Program credits: 120 ECTS • Program Duration: 2 years • Language of Instruction: English This program will suit researchers and professionals with the aim of improving their skills, mastering practical knowledge and skills in the fields of cognitive neuroscience, neuropsychological assessment and neuropsychological rehabilitation, as well as learning about state-of-the art methods in brain and cognitive research.

  6. The Master programconsists of three main blocks:

  7. The Laboratory for Brain and Neurocognitive Development The Laboratory was established in 2014. We maintain close collaboration with the Center for Brain and Cognitive Development, Birkbeck, University of London. Particularly, we use the European protocol for longitudinal study of infants at risk for ASD and ADHD. In parallel, we are involved in testing the effects of early parental-based interventions on of infants at high risk for autism and ADHD, and preterm infants. Students can participate in research in the framework of international projects. The laboratory uses 128-channels Geodesic EEG System 300 with Geodesic Photogrammetry System (GPS) 3.0, SMI RED 500 Eye-tracker, Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development - 3rd Edition (BSID III). Five laboratory scientists were trained at the Center for Brain and Cognitive Development in London.

  8. Employability: Successful completion of the Master program will allow graduates to work in as researchers, teachers, or practitioners in neuro-rehabilitational and developmental centers.

  9. APPLY NOW! If you want to reveal the mechanisms of the developing brain that mediate the formation of the mind and behavior in children in normal and deviant states
