  1. ST Equipment & Technology manufactures a Tribo-electrostatic Mineral Separator that provides a high rate, continuous and completely dry method to beneficiate minerals and metals across a broad range of particle sizes (from relatively coarse at 600 microns to very fine, 1-2 microns).

  2. Key Benefits of ST Equipment & Technology’s Separators • Water-Free separation • Environmentally friendly • Low energy consumption • High capacity – up to 40 tons per hour • Compact Machine – easy to fit within process layouts • Easy to permit • A wide range of particle sizes • A broad range of materials • Automated • Low maintenance • Fully commercialized, with more than 20 years of experience in powder processing

  3. The STET dry electrostatic separation process offers many advantages over traditional wet processing methods, such as magnetics or flotation, including: • No water consumption: The elimination of water also eliminates pumping, thickening and drying, as well as any costs and risks associated with water treatment and disposal. • No wet tailings disposal: Recent high-profile failures of tailings dams have highlighted the long term risk of storing wet tailings. By necessity, minerals processing operations produce tailings of some sort, but the STET electrostatic separator tailings are free of water and chemicals. This allows for easier beneficial re-use of the tailings. Tailings that do need to be stored can be mixed with a small volume of water for dust control. • No chemical addition required:Flotation chemicals are an ongoing operating expense for mineral processing operations. • Suitable for processing fine powders. Desliming may not be required depending on ore mineralogy and grade. • Lower investment cost (CAPEX) and lower operating cost (OPEX). • Ease of permitting due to minimize environmental impact, elimination of water treatment.

  4. bauxite beneficiation • Bauxite is a sedimentary rock and consists mostly of the aluminium minerals gibbsite (Al(OH)3), boehmite (γ-AlO(OH)) and diaspore (α-AlO(OH)), and is usually mixed with the two iron oxides goethite and hematite, the aluminium clay mineral kaolinite and small amounts of anatase (TiO2) and/or ilmenite (FeTiO3). • dry processing with the STET separator offers opportunities to generate value for bauxite producers and refiners. The pre-processing of bauxite prior to refining will reduce chemical costs, lower the volume of red mud generated and minimize process upsets.

  5. limestone beneficiation • cement manufacturers may need to purchase sources of limestone or other supplemental raw materials to achieve the desired raw mix quality.  • The STET separator has been proven in removing silicates and other contaminants from cement rock limestone prior to calcination, to extend the life and maximize recovery from cement rock deposits.

  6. Iron Ore Beneficiation • Dry processing of iron ore presents an opportunity to eliminate costs and wet tailings generation associated with flotation and wet magnetic separation circuits. STET has evaluated several iron ore tailings and run of mine ore samples at bench scale (pre-feasibility scale).
