Theaverageageofnaturalmenopause, whichisthepointofawoman'slastmenstrualperiod,is51.TheWomen'sHealthInitiative study, whichfollowed16,608women beinggivenhormonereplacementtherapy(HRT)formenopausesymptoms,discoveredahighriskofbreast cancer,coronaryheart diseaseandstrokefromtheuseofthesedrugs.
