My Individual Goal for this season is : Use your imagination here boys, what about playing in every match, being chosen as ‘Team Player’ of the Year, improving your fitness, eating large numbers of Bacon Butties, leading the pre-match stretching, getting praise from one of our opponents for fair play, helping one of your team mates to achieve something, being asked by the coaches to demonstrate a skill, being asked to be Captain or playing a new position for a few games, always being on time for training…….. My Team Goal for this season is : So, are we going to win the league? That could be one, but what about winning the ‘Fair Play’ League. What about nobody leaving the Team because they don’t like it or can’t make friends?, Or the Coaches not having to growl “You lot are worse than the Under 7’s” ever during training all season? Or not letting in a Goal direct from Kick off all season, or no goals allowed from Corner Kicks, or nobody falling out with each other in training and supporting each other when we play matches not going off on the playground at Hampsthwaite, hearing Jono say “We’re not worthy” 10 times this season…… My Skills Goal for this season is : What can you improve? Shooting with your ‘wrong’ foot, scoring with a header? Learning to play in Goal, taking great corners, crossing the ball, tackling, passing, fetching Ross cups of coffee, refereeing a game in training? Developing a super long throw for throw in’s, understanding the tactical dimensions of wing-back play in a diamond formation, not freezing to death at Tockwith in February, explaining FIFA 10 to your Dad, breaking your own keepy uppy record……
