  1. TAMU Listserv®Crash-course This is intended as a basic intro to using the Texas A&M ListServ® system.

  2. Setting Up a ListServ® Acount In order to manage listervs at Texas A&M, you must set up an account with the University ListServ system. • Listserv.tamu.edu • Click on “Manage Your Lists” • Click on “get a new LISTSERV password” • Follow the instructions to set up an account 1. 2. 3.

  3. Basic List Management • List Dashboard: The drop down menu that allows you to select the list you want to manage • Subscriber Management: the page that allows you to manage who is a member of the list

  4. Subscriber Management • Bulk Operations: allows you to add members from a text file • This is how I recommend you add users, I recommend creating your list in Excel, saving it as a *.txt and upload it that way

  5. Attachments • Attachments are tricky with the TAMU ListServ® system • DO NOT SEND ANYTHING OVER 5Mb in size to any Corps list! • If a larger attachment is necessary either setup and FTP, upload it to your outfit webpage, or have us put it on Cadets in a special protected folder • Due to the size of our system and the number of subscribers, it could take WEEKS to send a message with an attachment over 5Mb

  6. Other Basic Commands • Everything else on the system should have already been set up, but if you feel the need to modify or change any of the ListServ® settings the university has pretty good documentation on how to go about it • If you need any more specific help, or want to become an expert on the subject of ListServs® contact Michael Crocker at CIS and he will be happy to give you a full course on the TAMU ListServ® system
