  1. Science and how it might cause non-belief in Allah Unit 4 Hanaa Hadadi Year 10h

  2. Key words • Agnosticism  Not being sure whether Allah exists. • Atheism  Believing that Allah does not exist!

  3. The big bang • It is the idea that an explosion took place around 15 billion years ago! People believe that this was the cause of the universe to be formed. They also believe that this continues to expand and evolve without any outside power being involved.

  4. How this causes disbelief • This causes disbelief in allah (s.w.t) because it provided no physical evidence of allah’s existence. • Also because allah has many names and attributes, one of them being ‘the creator’ and the theory doesn’t support this fact. • Many non-believers also rely on science to make matters clearer and use as evidence rather than allah and the qura’an.

  5. Muslims believe… • Muslims believe that the big bang happened and it is mentioned in a qura’anic verse, however they believe allah was the cause. • Muslims also believe that allah is in control of everything and nothing happens without his knowledge and he is the ‘all-knower’.

  6. The evolutionary theory • Charles darwin was a scientist who came up with a theory that stated that all humans were previously apes and monkeys and gradual changed to become humans to be able to adapt to their new habitats. Many believe this theory as some fossils have been found to prove his point and this evidence can also be seen and tested today, they claim.

  7. How does this cause disbelief? • People rely on science rather than the knowledge that has been sent to them. • People disbelieve in some of allah’s names and attributes

  8. Muslims believe… • Muslims believe that allah has created humans in the best form and this is also stated in the qura’an. • They also believe that allah would never create humans in a similar form to animals especially that it is mentioned in the Quran as their faith in their religion is very strong and this theory may just be a test.

  9. SUMMARY • Scientific explanations may lead to disbelief on doubt in Allah’s existence • Allah created the universe and controls it • Even of scientific theories are correct, Allah must have began the process.
