Created By : http://www.submitinme.com/ Citation is referred to as the mention or reference of the Business Name, Address, Phone numbers (NAP) on other webpages(directories), even if there is no link to the website. Citation might be on the yellow pages, Online directories etc.. Examples of Online Directories, Yelp.com, Yellopages.com, Superpages.com

Citations are more helpful for Local Businesses. No matter if these citations links back to your site or not (Backlinks), they will be identified by search engines for the websites relevancy in search. A business with more citations will rank higher than that when compared with less citation sites.
