  2. What Is The Desert • Deserts cover about one fifth of our plant, and are caused by extremely low rainfall over an area. Animals that live in the deserts are snake’s, hawks, fox, etc. plants in the desert are such as the Pancake Prickle Pear Cactus, Triangle-Leaf Bursage, ChainfruitCholla, etc.

  3. Types of Deserts • There are 4 types of deserts such as… • Hot and Dry Deserts----- • Semiarid Deserts----- • Coastal Deserts----- • Cold Deserts-----

  4. Desert Weather • Hot and Dry deserts are very hot during the day but can reach freezing at night. This is due to no clouds to protect the land from the sun. and at night the heat rises up and leaves because the clouds are not there to keep the heat in. • Semiarid deserts is normally hot and warm and in winter it cools down. Summers are normally long and dry, and like hot deserts the winter usually bring low conservation of precipitation. • Coastal deserts have cool winters but are normally followed by long, warm summers. • Cold deserts are cold winters with snow fall and high overall rainfall throughout the winter and occasionally over the summer.
