  3. Mission Statement As disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ we are: a community of believers, called by God to glorify and serve God through worship and witness. Empowered by the Holy Spirit we reach out to share God’s saving love and grace with people in Bristol and throughout the world.

  7. Church Family Activities Typical Wednesday Schedule Wednesday A midweek time of renewal in fellowship, learning and worship.

Church Family Activities (Other) Women’s & Men’s Groups • Heart to Heart a woman’s group who study, pray, fellowship and together with weekly, monthly and quarterly events • Men’s Breakfast a monthly gathering for food and study, • Prayer Groups –weekly opportunities • Presbyterian Women Retreats • Fifth and Sixth Grade – part of the Confirmation process • Women’s-held annually in March. • Fall/Church-Wide- any & all are invited • Prayer, Service and Worship Retreats held a different times.

  9. Church Family Activities (Other) Vacation Bible School –every summer! Festival of Faith –bi-yearly a time of learning and fellowship in which we celebrate our calling as disciples Library– filled with Christian books for reading, aiding research, Sunday School material, Children’s books and DVD movies, etc.

  10. Sunday Morning Adult Program Offerings A.C. Adams Class (Room 113) is dedicated to the study of the Bible as the inspired Word of God with open discussion and application. Graham Landrum Discussion Class (Parlor) A class for Seniors, which uses ThePresent WordBible study series. Shared teaching responsibility, both men and women are encouraged to join.

  11. Sunday Morning Adult Program Offerings Inductive Bible Study (Room 111) is lead by a rotation of lay leaders. This class gathers for varying short-term studies that focus upon the Bible Short-Term Bible Study Class (Rotates) Just like it sounds, this class meets for short 4-8 week studies that are designed to engage attendees and invite discussion.

  12. Sunday Morning Adult Program Offerings Friendship Class is a class for special people who study God’s love for all God’s people through Old and New Testament stories. Each year provides new opportunities for classes of shorter duration. Please check out what may be currently offered with the Minister of Discipleship (Dave Welch)

Adult Program Offerings Small Group Ministries “For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.” (Mt. 18:20) Opportunities for folks to study, to pray and to be in fellowship, including: Book Study, Old Testament, New Testament, Sermon Text, Through the Year with the Bible…or..Name Your Own.   14. Youth Program The Youth ministry of First Presbyterian Church is designed to nurture students (Grades 6th through 12th) in their relationship with Jesus Christ. We accomplish this through four equally important components: worship, study, service and fellowship.

  16. Youth Program Offerings Bible Studies • Junior High • Wednesday nights after the family supper. • 6:20 - 7:00 p.m. • Senior High • Wednesday nights at Chad & Jen’s home. • 7:30 - 8:30 p.m

  17. Youth Program Offerings Sunday School: Separate classes that study Biblical truths and discuss issues faced in our Christian lives. Other Activities: Other activities serve to nurture the students of our church and Bristol to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, are as follows: fall retreats, all youth spring retreat, The Great Escape, Big Stuff, junior and senior high mission trips, and local service projects.

  18. Children’s Sunday School Following a traditional Sunday School model, the curriculum for all the Children's’ classes has been selected with multi-intelligence in mind. Currently the program uses the “Show Me Jesus” curriculum from Great Commission Publications. Classes are structured by grade and age of students.

Children’s Sunday Morning Sunday Morning Schedule 9:00 – 9:40 a.m. Choir (4 years to 1st Grade) ** 9:40 – 9:50 a.m. Gathering Music 9:50 – 10:35 a.m. Workshop Rotation **Children are taken form the early worship service to choir. Following choir practice the children are taken to the children’s wing into appropriately aged groups for Sunday school.

  20. Children’s Sunday Morning Kids’ Kirk is an age-appropriate worship time, that follows the Children’s Time (11:00 Service) • children ages 4 – 7 are invited to go with the teacher to the children’s wing. • Children worship using the same format as adult worship, only on their level.

  21. Nursery Program First Presbyterian Church strives to provide quality care for even our smallest members and visitors--babies and toddlers-- for all weekly services and other noted times.   22. Nursery Safety Feature Information All children must be signed in/out. For safety and insurance purposes, only nursery staff are allowed in the Nursery (Exception: nursing mothers) The Nursery Director is trained and certified in CPR Sick children are asked to stay at home (following public school guidelines) The nursery staff will not give medicines. Sheets are changed after each use. Toys and changing tables are disinfected after every use. Because of food allergies, Cheerios and apple juice only will be provided for snacks. On Wednesday nights the nursery staff can feed children (up to age 3) in the Fellowship Hall. Nursery Program
