  2. We thought that there would be more electricity generated into the apple because the metals would touch. Hypothesis: for the apple lab.

  3. We are testing the use of chemical energy in a apple. No current was flowing through the meter because electrons were flowing from one metal to the other. The electric current became higher when there was more metal pushed into the apple. How do variables affect the ability of an apple battery to produce electricity?

  4. DATA:

  5. In our hypothesis we thought that there would be more electricity generated when the ends of the wires touched. After doing the experiment and collecting all the data we found that when the ends touched no electricity was generated because when they touched everything was cancelled out. Conclusion:

  6. We thought that the glow stick would last longer because it would be ice cold water and that would help conserve the energy and that it would continue to become brighter. Hypothesis: for the light sticks

  7. The light stick is filled with ester & dye. The glass ampule on the inside is filled with a hydrogen peroxide solution. When the glass ampule is broken the chemicals mix causing a chemical reaction & then release light energy causing the “glowing” of the light stick. • Heat added = brighter glow, but for a shorter time. • Take away heat = it’ll glow for a long time, but not as brightly. How does thermal energy affect light sticks?

  8. For the glow stick lab, our hypothesis was that the glow stick in the cold water would last longer and also continue to become brighter. The results proved our hypothesis correct and wrong. The glow stick in the cold water did last longer than the one in the warm water but it lost a lot of its light compared to the glow stick in the warm water. Conclusion:

  9. We thought that the green light stick would leave a bigger mark on the paper because it was glowing brighter than the hot pink light stick. Hypothesis: for 2nd light stick experiment.

  10. The hot pink light stick left a more noticeable mark on the paper because it had greater light energy. Results:

  11. Our hypothesis for the second glow stick experiment was that the paper would absorb more of the energy from the green light stick. But after the results we saw that the pink was really absorbed more. Conclusion:
