  3. Why I Chose My Animal? I chose the Arctic Fox because they are very soft. Also Arctic Foxes are cute and their tail is very fluffy and soft.

  4. Appearance Arctic foxes have awesome characteristics. Arctic foxes have short rounded ears and a short muzzle. Twice a year arctic foxes shed their coats. Arctic foxes also lose their winter coat in spring. With all this fur, an arctic fox can definitely survive in the wild.

  5. Habitat Do you know where Arctic foxes live? Well they live in mainland areas and islands, with both coastal and inland areas. Arctic foxes travel as long as 2,100-15,000 acres, or 850-6070 hectares in their lifetime. They can live farther up north than any other land mammal in the world. This is because of its thick fur.

  6. Diet To stay healthy and strong arctic foxes eat many things. An arctic fox eats anything except for berries, seaweed, and insects. Arctic foxes also eat small mammals. Arctic foxes can eat dead reindeer, seals, and other large animals as well. An arctic fox eats a lot of things to help it survive in the wild.

  7. Family Arctic foxes can have a large family. Arctic foxes work together to clean their dens. In May or June, the cubs are born. One litter can consist of up to 25 cubs! Arctic foxes hunt for lemmings in order to feed their cubs. It is hard for arctic foxes to protect their families, because there are so many foxes in it.

  8. Predator/Prey/Adapt The arctic fox can be a predator to same and a prey to others. In winter, people trap arctic foxes for their fur. The fur is shaved off and used to manufacture hats, mittens, and coats. Arctic wolves hunt arctic foxes. Cubs can be eaten by owls.

  9. Interesting Facts Here are some interesting facts about arctic foxes. Arctic foxes aren’t heavy, they are only 6-17 pounds. Arctic foxes are also not very big. Their bodies and head are only 8-27 inches, or 46-69 centimeters long. An arctic fox’s tail is fluffy and short, averaging at about 14 inches or 36 centimeters long. Arctic foxes are cute and cuddly so you might want to hold them!
