  1. Prominence Eruption, MLSO PICS Ha Feb 18, 2003, 01:57 to 02:18 UT Advanced Coronal Observing System(ACOS):White Light Corona, Helium-I, Ha ACOS Web page: 1) New user interface (calendar) to MLSO database. (2003) 2)MLSO data are available through the Virtual Solar Observatory (VSO). (2004) Hardware: New MK4 guider is providing more stable pointing. (2005) Mauna Loa Solar Observatory (MLSO) 40th Anniversary 1965-2005 What’s New at MLSO? 1965-2005 Added a 3rd Observer (2003) Result: Increased observing window to 9 hours (from 5 hours). Observed twice as many CMEs in 2003 compared with 2002. New Observing Window: ~17 UT to ~02 UT MK4 K-Coronameter, Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) on Feb 22, 2004. ACOS images are acquired every 3 minutes.

  2. Precision Solar Photometric Telescope(PSPT) 1965-2005 1) Photometric accuracy increased. Accuracy is now 0.1% to 0.3% with completion of processing upgrades (2004) 2)New Filter: Narrow band CaIIK in red wing (393.634 nm). PSPT, April 22, 2005 Experiment for Coordinated Heliospheric Observations (ECHO) + Global Oscillations Network Group (GONG) HAO will continue to operate the ECHO network (MLSO and Canary Islands) and the GONG instrument at MLSO to acquire observations over time scales of the 11-year solar cycle. GOALS 2005-2006 1) Investigate Next Generation Coronal Observing System to record coronal magnetic fields, white light corona, chromosphere in Helium-I and Ha (in collaboration with University of Hawaii, and University of Michigan). 2) Install New PSPT filter: Narrow band CaIIK line core (393.37 nm). 3) Provide Quantitative Helium-I (CHIP) Velocity Images 4) Implement ACOS web page advanced search engine & provide additional data sets (i.e. PSPT, MK3, SMM) HAO and MLSO are sponsored by the National Science Foundation
