One Sun One World One Grid (OSOWOG): A Brief Overview

The fundamental concept behind One Sun One World One Grid (OSOWOG) is to develop a trans-national grid supply of solar power that will be laid all over the globe. The vision behind the OSOWOG mantra is u201cthe Sun never setsu201d and is a constant at some geographical location, globally, at any given point of time through which one country can sell solar power to other solar scarce or cold countries.

  2. An intercontinental grid of solar can maximize economic benefits through interconnections by leveraging the differences of time zones, seasons, resources, and prices between countries and regions. WWW.SUPRABHA.ORG

  3. The fundamental concept behind One Sun One World One Grid (OSOWOG) is to develop a trans-national grid supply of solar power that will be laid all over the globe. The vision behind the OSOWOG mantra is “the Sun never sets” and is a constant at some geographical location, globally, at any given point of time through which one country can sell solar power to other solar scarce or cold countries. The OSOWOG project plan is to lay undersea cables for transferring solar energy to other countries. WWW.SUPRABHA.ORG

  4. The International Solar Alliance, the World Bank, and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) signed an agreement to partner for the implementation of the One Grid for One Sun and One World (OSOWOG) initiative on 8th September 2020 at the First World Solar Technology Summit (WSTS). The International Solar Alliance (ISA) will be the nodal agency for carrying out all the activities of OSOWOG. The World Bank, through the SBI SUPRABHA programme, will fund the OSOWOG study, while the MNRE, through its Steering Committee for SUPRABHA, will approve various deliverables and fund transfers required for the implementation of the One Sun One World One Grid (OSOWOG) study. It has been envisaged that India, which has a demonstrated capability to go up to 745 GW of solar energy alone, will be providing power to other parts of the world in their peak hours and will be a leader in this international grid.
