Identifying Web Service Integration Challenges

This paper presents an overview of the integration challenges faced by web services in enterprise and business-to-business contexts. It outlines critical aspects such as service discovery using UDDI and WSDL, communication protocols like SOAP, and transaction management. Furthermore, it addresses issues related to customization, reliability, security, and the complexity of combining different standards. The findings emphasize the significance of resolving semantic problems and highlight that while progress has been made, there is still much work to be done to improve interoperability and efficiency in web service integration.
