  1. The Magic That Was Radio March 19, 2011 Great Benson Hall Bethel University

  2. Promotional Mailer (December 1) The Minneapolis Commodores proudly present our 64th annual show, “The Magic That Was Radio”. Come join us for a highly entertaining, nostalgia filled look at the world of Old Time Radio. You’ll hear a broad range of music from an era that helped define us as a nation. You might even get a chance to see a few of your favorite radio characters from a time when storytelling and imagination ruled the air waves. Along with the warm, rich, four-part harmony sounds of the 85-man Commodore Chorus, you will also be entertained by a number of our chapter Barbershop quartets. And if that’s not enough, our special guest quartet, Vocal Spectrum – 2006 International Quartet Champions – will thrill you with their soaring harmonies. These superb singers have been entertaining audiences all over the globe since they emerged with the gold medal 5 years ago. They truly represent the absolute best that the Barbershop Harmony Society has to offer. If you have been to one of our shows over the last few years you know what you’ve got to look forward to. If you haven’t had the chance, come join us on March 19, 2011 and let us bring a little magic into your life.

  3. The Story After lengthy consideration, the owner of KORD Radio has decided that he is going to leave the station (closed for over 20 years) to his grandson. He doesn’t quite know why but has a feeling that his grandson might be able to figure out what to do with it. The entire show is set in the old station. As the story unfolds, a number of ghost characters, who were prominent stars in early radio, appear to help educate (and entertain) the grandson. The story ends with the grandson deciding to make a museum out of the old station to both honor his grandfather and to help tell the story of Old Time Radio.

  11. WE NEED YOU! The most important part of the entire show is YOU! We need everyone to become actively involved in selling the excitement that will generate ticket sales and sponsorships. Each of us needs to make it our responsibility to promote the show. Be proud to tell people that this continues to be the best entertainment value in town. You’re going to have a lot more fun singing in front of a sold-out, enthusiastic audience.

  12. THANK YOU
