CE Scholarships • About 1/4 of CE/GeoE students receive scholarships (~70 students per year) • Over $150,000 in scholarships awarded • Awards range from $400 to $4000 per year • CE/GeoE Awards based on merit (GPA) and number of credits completed • MSES Awards based on merit, need and interests • Study Abroad Scholarships - $2500 • City Engineers Association of MN & WSB joined CE scholarship program in 2003

BCE Program Modifications • Added New Course - CE 3102 Uncertainty and Decision Analysis in CE • Dropped Geo 1001, Increased CE technical electives from 13 to 17. • Substitutions: Upon approval of DUGS, students may make the following substitutions: • A CSci programming course for CE 3101 • Stat 3021 for CE 3102 • A CE technical elective for AEM 2012

When graduating seniors this spring were asked "In general, how satisfied are you with your experience at the University of Minnesota?" the average response (on a six point scale) was 4.94 compared with 4.59 for seniors graduating in 1989.  In 2003 82.9% of seniors responded with a 5 or 6 rating as compared with only 69.3% of seniors in 1989.  When asked to evaluate the overall quality of teaching in their major, the average response of graduating seniors in 2003 (again on a six point scale) was 4.64 as compared to 4.33 in 1989.
