  1. World War 1 – 1914-18 • Turkey agrees to an armistice on 30th October • Austria agrees to an armistice on 3rd November • Germany agrees to an armistice on 11th November • Armistice – Stop fighting, not official peace. • They make ‘peace’ because they will lose if they continue to fight. • They all signed separate peace treaties.

  2. Treaty of Sevres 1920 • Officially ends the war between the Ottoman empire and the allied powers. • The empire was broken up and what remained became Turkey.

  3. Treaty of Saint-Germain-en-Laye 1919 • Officially ends the war between the Austro-Hungarian empire and the allied powers.

  4. Treaty of Versailles 1919 • Officially ends the war between Germany and the allied powers. • Leaders who attended: • Woodrow Wilson (USA) • Lloyd George (UK) • George ‘Tiger’ Clemanceau (France)

  5. Italy was there but left on the side-lines because of their minimal contribution & involvement in the Triple Alliance. • Russia didn’t attended because they made a separate treaty. Also they weren’t wanted. • They meet to decide on the terms of peace. • Germans not invited.
