CCC-Pincer Ligands for Hydrocarbon Functionalization Anthony R. Chianese, Department of Chemistry, Colgate University Aryl-substituted CCC-pincer ligands were synthesized, and metalation to iridium gives complexes that catalyze C-H functionalization reactions, including alkane dehydrogenation and arene borylation. These iridium complexes are active catalysts for the borylation of arene C-H bonds: They are also active catalysts for the acceptorless dehydrogenation of alkanes X-ray structure: Ar = mesityl
