  3. THE VFC AND CHAPTER PRESIDENTS • CHAPTER PRESIDENTS: • PLAY A SIGNIFICANT AND INFLUENTIAL ROLE IN THE SUCCESS OF FEDERATION EFFORTS • ARE LEADERS IN PROVIDING “GRASS-ROOT” INPUT TO VFC STATEWIDE PROGRAMS • PROVIDE ALONG WITH AVPs THE BASIC LINK BETWEEN THE VFC AND THE CHAPTER MEMBERSHIP

  4. CHAPTER PRESIDENT’S REPSPONSIBILITIES • CHAIR EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETINGS TO PLAN CHAPTER MEETINGS, PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES • PRESIDE AT CHAPTER MEETINGS • SERVE AS PRINCIPAL LIASION BETWEEN FEDERATION, NATIONAL OFFICE AND THE CHAPTER • ENCOURAGE & SUPPORT TRAINING OF OTHER CHAPTER OFFICERS

  5. CHAPTER PRESIDENT’S RESPONSIBILITIES (cont.) • APPOINT APPROPRIATE COMMITTEES (STANDING AND/OR SPECIAL) FOR THE CONDUCT OF CHAPTER ACTIVITIES & PROGRAMS • FOSTER MEMBERSHIP GROWTH THROUGH RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION OF MEMBERS

  6. CHAPTER PRESIDENT’S RESPONSIBILITIES (cont.) • IDENTIFY, MOTIVATE & DEVELOP REPLACEMENTS FOR FUTURE CHAPTER LEADERSHIP POSTIONS • ENSURE THAT EACH OFFICER AND COMMITTEE CHAIR IS FAMILIAR WITH HIS/HER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  7. COMMITTEES • KEEP COMMITTEE CHAIRS FILLED • TRY TO AVOID MULTIPLE ASSIGNMENTS • NEW MEMBERS BEST OPPORTUNITIES

  8. MEMBER PARTICIPATION • MEMBERS WITH ASSIGNMENTS STAY LONGER • AVOID MULTIPLE DUTIES TO SAME PERSON

  9. CHOICES A FEW DOING A LOT VS A LOT OF PEOPLE DOING A LITTLE

  10. NOMINATING COMMITTEE • COMMITTEE SHOULD WORK YEAR ROUND • ASSIGN EXTOVERTS • USE FOR COMMITTEE CHAIRS & OFFICERS
