What is covered in this module? • Simple tools to write web pages: • Create simple, personal profiles • Share images • Express views • Explain passions There is good evidence that writing for the web is highly motivating! Activity 2 – What’s already out there for you to use? • Time for this activity = 1.5 hours. • You will need to review three activities that are suitable for your learners. • Evaluate each activity – see separate sheet for suggested criteria. • For at least one activity, outline a lesson plan or scenario for using it to teach and/or practise and/or apply.   15. Searching • How did you search for this information? • Did you plan? Could you have planned better? • Which search engine/s did you use? • Did you find out anything else on the way? Activity 5 – Building a simple web • To close this session we are going to look at creating web material: • for you to communicate with your learners or manage resources • for your learners as a highly motivating medium to write for. Self-study following this module • Improve your skills in preparing web-based material using the resources listed on the handout – and any others you find useful. • Develop a simple website (3–5 pages) containing material relevant to your learners. • Review each other’s websites and provide constructive feedback. Action learning following this module • Incorporate at least two examples of internet material in your teaching and critically evaluate the way in which it was used and how it worked in practice. • Pro forma are provided but are not compulsory.
