HS Graduation Requirements • 22 CREDITS • English – 4 credits (English 9, 10, 11 and 12) • Math – 4 credits (1 Algebra, 1 Geometry, 2 Math Electives) • Science – 3 credits (1 Physical Science, 1 Biology, 1 Science Elective) • Social Studies – 3 credits (U.S. History, N.S.L. Government, Modern World History) • Physical Education – 1 credit • Health - .5 credit • Fine Arts – 1 credit • Technology Education – 1 credit • Completer program – 2 to 6 credits (world languages, advanced technology, or career pathway) • Electives – To reach the total of 22 credits • HSA’s • Algebra I • Biology • English 10 • Government • SSL – 75 hours

  9. Promotion Guidelines

  10. New Repeater Policy If you fail a course, you will no longer be able to retake the course during the school day. You will need to attend summer school or high plus instead! Just remember – First time is free second time is on you! Only exception is for seniors for the 2014 – 2015 school year.

Registration Card Instructions • Course descriptions – MCPS High School Course Bulletin (available online or in the Counseling Department) • All forms are due to the Counseling Department by February 12, 2014 • Must have student and parent signatures • Include Appeal Form if you want to change levels • Remember to fill in alternative electives • After April 25th, no changes will be made to your course selections

  14. What Happens If You Do Not Return the Form by February 12? If you do not return the signed form by noon on February 12th, you could be leaving it up to your counselor to pick your classes for you!
