  2. Formation of hail storms • Water droplets freeze into an ice nucleus • The faster the updraft on the ice balls the bigger they grow

  3. Cause of hail storm • Raindrops lift up into the atmosphere during a thunderstorm super cooled by temperatures below freezing. • The size of hail can be as small as a pea or as big as a grapefruit.
