  2. Introduction • Senior at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte • Double Major in Marketing & Management • Perfect Match for Octagon!

WhatDaniel Cox canprovide • I possess the character traits of being honest, trustworthy, and am always reliable. • Unlimited hours on the job, willing to dedicate myself 100% to this internship. • A strong desire and passion to learn the sports agency business from Octagon. • Can recruit and represent athletes in an ethical manner.

  4. Why Octagon Basketball? • A Pioneer and leader in Athlete & Personality Representation and Management, they work with over 800 Athletes! • Octagon Basketball currently represents 12 NBA players, including JimmerFredette and Stephen Curry • I grew up loving basketball, and have worked alongside it the past few years. After researching sports agencies, I discovered that Octagon is the ideal place where I want to work based on their core values and reputation.

  5. Duties & Responsibilities • Contract Negotiation • Dealt with many craigslist negotiations. • Created deals with my parents and friends. • Reviewed and organized sponsorship agreements with the Charlotte Bobcats. • Strong desire to learn this area. • Compile Stats and Scouting Reports • Participated in Game Prep for Charlotte 49er games by compiling team stats and individual statistics, while also editing and adding to scouting reports done by the coaching staff. • Scouted and created a recruiting booklet for future personal use at the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions (AAU).

  6. Duties & Responsibilities • Recruiting Perspective Clients • Created recuiting mail-outs • Consulted on PowerPoint presentations within the athletic department at UNC Charlotte. • Friends with current Charlotte 49er basketball players (including 2 international players) and alumni such as Rodney White and Curtis Withers. • Communicated and built relationships with many other professionals such as Brendan Haywood, Donte Green, and Josh Smith. • Creating Original Marketing Tools for Existing Clients • As a marketing major, I am very involved in social media, knowledge of viral marketing, and full of new ideas.

  7. Development Plan • Find an Internship within the basketball department at Octagon this upcoming Summer • Work hard, network, become an important part of the company • GRADUATE • Only 1 additional class needed after Spring 2011 semester ! • Apply for a full-time job at Octagon!

  8. Experience Needed at Octagon • Have worked alongside and met many athletes while developing friendships. • Currently a Basketball Manager for the Charlotte 49ers and a security guard for the Charlotte Bobcats • Former Arena Operations Intern with the Charlotte Bobcats • Former Marketing Intern for Basketball Times

  9. Conclusion I feel like I would be the perfect match as an Intern at Octagon Basketball during the Octagon Experience, based on my skill set, interests, and the need for an honest, reliable hard worker.
