  2. YOUNG PEOPLE & HIV/AIDS IN MALAYSIA:Out of 51,256 Reported HIV Infection.. 13-19 years: 824 (1.6%) 20-29 years: 19,103 (37.3%) For every 10 HIV cases…….. 4 are young people!! THE YOUNG PEOPLE

  3. WHY VULNERABLE?Exposure to unsafe sex… sharing needles32% of young people (16-25 yrs) are involved with risky behaviors. Not getting the information, life-skills and services they need Fear of STIGMA …. Discrimination Not me syndrome  Not enough supporting environment THE YOUNG PEOPLE

  4. THE YOUNG PEOPLE • The need for YOUTH involvement • They… • Have led the struggle to change behaviors • Are disproportionately affected by the epidemic • Are the greatest untapped resource to fight HIV/AIDS • The future depends on their sustaining change • Young people……can do better!!

  5. BRIDGING THE GAPS……Listen to youth…. Try to see things from their view points Encourage them to make the difference… Mobilize and support them for; “ ACTION…By Youth, Through Youth, For Youth”

  6. . PROgram Sihat Tanpa AIDS untuk Remaja. ‘Staying Healthy Without AIDS for Youth’ Is a community mobilization program where youth (16-25) will be trained as pear mobilizer, energizer, motivator, and changing agent towards “Healthy Young Generation”
