Name: Sammual (Sam) Jones Age:16 Talents, Skills, Important Traits: This is Sam important talent, he likes to skateboard Three Descriptive Adjectives: He is a quitter, skater, creative Quote from the book “You could have guessed that I skate….you could have guessed that my best subject was Art and Design.(Hornby p-9).

  3. Who is a supporting character? Name: Alicia Burns Age:16 Talents, Skills, Important Traits: she can be bossy. Three Descriptive Adjectives: Pretty ,Conceded ,Stubborn -Quote from the book “Actually, I’d like to be here, on this sofa…Right here. But with nobody else in the room..Nobody else that includes you” (HORNBY p.24).

  4. What is one of the major themes? Definition of Theme: Sam and Alicia take responsibility. “I’m going to have a baby…And were keeping it” ( HORNBY pg.164 ). “Alicia and I went to the hospital for a scan” (HORNBY pg.177).

  5. What is the story about? Setting – London, England Main Conflict: Sam got Alicia Pregnant. Alicia and Sam had a baby.

  6. What is one important scene? Sam gets Alicia pregnant, Alicia decides to keep the baby. Both of these two teenagers parents begin to worry about their son and daughters future, now with the baby changing lives and plans. Because this part is the rising action in the story. From this point things start to get interesting by the second.

  7. Sam runs away from his troubles to Hastings “And Hastings was the first place I thought I’ll go to live at” (HORNBY pg.115 ). This shows that Sam is afraid. He’s being a coward on life and is scared. He decided to run away from his troubles and to be forgotten somewhere else.

  8. What connections can you make to this book? This story reminds me of a movie called “Knocked-Up”. In the book Slam- Sam gets Alicia pregnant. In “Knocked-Up”, an adult gets this women at a club pregnant and he freaks out. So did Sam, when he found out about Alicia. The two girls decide to keep the baby. Both of the girls and the boys lives change over a period of time.

  9. Why should you read this book? This book is really cool.You are perceptive about what is going on and your going to want to keep turning the pages. The fact about being a parent at an early age is erratic but it happens a lot in the world. This book is magnificent!
