  1. What are the main parts of the Human Reproductive System and, its function? takshilalearning.com/what-are-the-main-parts-of-the-human-reproductive-system-and-its-function/ January 22, 2021 Reproduction is defined as the biological process by which a new individual or parent produces similar offspring. This process ensures an increase in the number of species when conditions are favorable. This is one of the basic characteristics of living things. Two types of reproduction are – asexual and sexual. SexualReproduction – The process of sexual reproduction is very complex, involving the formation and transfer of gametes, followed by the process of fertilization, zygote, and embryo. Asexual Reproduction – This reproductive process involves only one parent, and the new offspring are genetically identical to the parents. Reproduction in human beings All human beings go through the process of sexual reproduction. In the process, both parents are involved in the creation of a new person. The combination of gametes (sex cells) from each parent produces offspring. Therefore, the newly formed individual will be genetically and physically separated from the parents. Human reproduction is an example of sexual reproduction. In humans, the reproductive systems of men and women are different; therefore, they are known to exhibit sexual dimorphism. Men have testicles – also called testicles, and women have ovaries. The human reproductive system 1/8

  2. Human reproduction involves a combination of male and female gametes. The male reproductive system differs from the female reproductive system in structure and function. Male reproductive system Male gametes, that is, sperm, are produced within the male reproductive system. Sperm are small single-celled structures with a head, center, and tail. The male reproductive system includes: Testicles: An oval-shaped organ in a sac called the scrotum. These are responsible for the production of sperm and the male hormone testosterone. Scrotum: This is an organ-like sac that hangs under and behind the penis. It is the housing of the testes or testicles, which maintains the temperature required for sperm production. Vasdeferens: Sperm produced in the testicles accumulate in a tube called the epididymis. Here the sperm matures and travels through the muscular tube called the vesicle differentiation into the urethra. Accessoryglands: It contains three glands namely the seminal vesicle, prostate gland, and Cooper gland. The secretions of the three glands produce a fluid called semen. Sperm nourish the sperm, increase volume and help lubricate. Penis: The penis is a cylindrical tube that functions as a reproductive organ and a fecal organ. During sexual intercourse, it delivers sperm to the vagina. 2/8

It contains the following parts: A pair of ovaries: The ovaries produce and store eggs. They also make the female hormone estrogen. Fallopian tubes (ovulation): They are the site of fertilization. They connect the ovaries to the uterus. Uterus: The uterus is the site of fetal development. Vagina: The part of the uterus that connects to the external female body parts. This is the route to the penis during coitus and to the fetus during childbirth. 4/8

  6. Female reproductive system Infographic The female reproductive system has two functions – i. Production of female gametes known as ovum/egg. ii. Provides nutrition and protects the developing fetus. In adulthood, the eggs begin to mature in the ovaries. One of the ovaries leaves the adult ovary every 28 to 30 days and is called ovulation. Reproductive process in human Fertilization is the process by which sperm combines with an egg to produce a zygote. Fertilization is an important stage of reproduction in humans. Fertilized eggs are called zygotes. The zygote divides into several cells and develops into an embryo. The fetus moves to the uterus and attaches to its walls. This process is called implantation, and the implanted embryo eventually develops into an embryo. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) What is reproduction? Breeding is the basic biological process by which parents produce young or offspring that are similar. What is fertilization? Fertilization is the fusion of male and haploid gametes (ovum and sperm), resulting in diploid zygotes. What is cell differentiation? Cell differentiation is the process by which a young and immature cell develops into a distinct and mature cell. Describe the process of reproduction in humans? In humans, the reproductive process usually begins after copulation, followed by pre – fertilization, followed by fertilization. In this seminal process, the male and female reproductive organs play an important role. Explain the term quarterly system? 6/8

  7. i. In biology, the quarterly system mainly refers to three months. The duration of a full pregnancy lasts from the first day of your last menstrual period to 38-40 weeks or 9 months until the baby is born. This period is divided into three phases, which together are called trimesters. ii. In the first trimester (first 3 months). iii. Second quarter (2 months). Third-quarter (3 months). What is a partition? i. Segmentation is the process by which a baby is transferred from the uterus to the vagina after the pregnancy is complete or from the fully developed fetus and placenta. The process takes place in three stages, including: ii. Phase 1: Initial phase – 2 to 12 hours. iii. Step 2: Birth Process – 30 to 180 minutes. iv. Step 3: Placental abruption – 1 to 12 hours. How do humans reproduce their young? Man sexually reproduces his genitals through the interaction between the male and female reproductive organs. Want to list the stages of sexual reproduction? Sexual reproduction is carried out by a group of events, which are divided into three stages: pre-fertilization and post-fertilization. What is the significance of human reproduction? Reproduction is the basic biological process by which various organisms carry out their offspring to produce offspring and offspring. In humans, reproduction plays an important role in the continuity of organisms from one generation to another. No life on earth can survive without reproduction. What is the difference between sexual and raw reproductive methods? There are two different methods of reproduction, sexual and raw. Sex mode reproduction occurs in all multicellular organisms, including humans, animals, and higher plants. Sexual mode breeding takes place only on low invertebrates and simple organisms such as amoeba, bacteria, and hydra. Get Information for online classes for class 10 CBSE 7/8
