  1. No wrong doors for young people Raising Awareness about mental health and substance abuse issues across services in Redbridge.

  2. Who are we? • CAMHS – Child and Adolescent Mental Health • This includes; • Fusion • Hear and Now • CEIS ( Camhs early intervention in schools) • CFCS – ( Child and Family Consultation , Loxfor Hall) • These are community CAMHS, as distinct from inpatient CAMHS

  3. What do we do? • Fusion –"Fusion" to work with young people in relation to drugs and alcohol. Fusion provides support for young people using or at risk of using drugs and /or alcohol. • Fusion also Provides support to parents Hear and Now –is a confidential counselling service for all young people aged 11-17 or who study in the Redbridge Area. Young people cab refer to Hear and Now directly and referrals are also accepted from families, and professionals working with young people. Hear and Now are based in the Centre of Ilford but also provide Counselling in Barkingside, South Woodford and in secondary schools • CEIS – Has been commissioned to work in 18 schools and provides assessments and interventions with young people and families at an early stage in a problem , and works to build the capacity of schools to nurture and meet the needs of children. CEIS works in PRUs, two High Schools and 13 Primary Schools.

CAMHS/CFCS Multi disciplinary Team; This includes • Psychiatrists , Psychologists, Psychotherapists, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Family Therapists, and last but by no means least Social Workers • Interventions include; Assessment and diagnosis, Pharmacology, CBT, Psychotherapy, Family Therapy, Parent Work, Parenting, EMDR, and MBT

Mental Health presentations • Disorders and presentations in children fall under the categories of ;DEVELOPMENTAL • EMOTIONAL • BEHAVIOURAL,PSYCHIATRIC. • They include ;Autistic Spectrum Disorders, • School Refusal • Hyperactivity/ ADHD, • Psychosis • Tic Disorders • Anxiety Disorders • Conduct Disorder • Mood Disorders • Enuresis • Selective Mutism • Substance Abuse • Obsessive - Compulsive Disorder • Encopresis • Attachment Disorders • Preschool problems • Eating disorders • Psychosomatic Disorders • Reactions to Stress

Next steps • Mental Health and Substance Misuse Group • Vision; • To promote awareness of mental health and substance misuse issues across services in Redbridge. • Aims; • To empower agencies to have the confidence and competence to intervene in these issues at an early stage in a problem • To develop an awareness of the impact of these issues on young people their development and on parenting • Objective • To deliver training as a part of the regular programme provided through the LSCB • To establish a practice forum comprised of a multi-disciplinary Team of professionals who can provide consultation and guidance. • To promote the development of action learning sets across services to empower practitioners regarding tier own learning and the development of practice. • Mission • For services in Redbridge; to have an informed coherent co-ordinated and accessible approach to the issues of mental health and substance misuse across the range and breadth of services in the community.
