New features • Support for single include/lib directories • in ${LHCXXTOP}/specific/${PLATF}/<release>/ • New makefiles (separated for each package) • in ${LHCXXTOP}/specific/${PLATF}/<release>/etc/ • replacing the HepODBMS-makefiles • New setup script (.csh and .sh version) • ${LHCXXTOP}/share/LHCXX/1.0.0.0/install/sharedstart.sh • defines environment variables LHC++ meeting

Numbering scheme for releases • Similar to Linux kernel • <major>.<minor>.<bug-fix/patch> • <minor> : even = production, odd = development • affects links in <release> subdirs only • pointing to the relevant bug-fix releases of the packages • should be more flexible for users • expect changes on timescales of weeks • HEP specific part only LHC++ meeting
